Again, that's true. Have any studies been made that show a sufficient difference between Valley-Girl talk to what may be regarded as a Californian accent to class the former as a sub-accent of the latter? Keep in mind that meaning of "dialect" is rather more expansive than that of "accent". I am only talking about the latter.

There are a lot of different ways to talk that are all from California. It's a really big state.
