This is one of those phrases that made me go looking and I never found a good source, consensus seems to be a sufficient kick in the ass that you need to be carried in a medicinal type sling, but the most fun is that tail gunners in certain WWII bombers sat in a sling. I've read about the trebuchet as well but far less than the others. Still only anecdotal.Svartalf wrote:mmmh? still trying to save energy on transcontinental transportation are you?Gawdzilla wrote:Think trebuchet.colubridae wrote:My ass is in a sling

No one calls women "wenches" and "hags" any more. It's all "bitches" and "hos" now

Actually, wenches just became a fixture of renfaires... and "hag" has become a non PC term due to the huge increase in number and politico-economic power of overaged bitchy nags.Animavore wrote:No one calls women "wenches" and "hags" any more. It's all "bitches" and "hos" now
