When I try to pronounce that word in front of another human in a conversation, I take a break from the interforums.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Actually, I have a bad habit of figuring how to pronounce aloud what I read, as part of an instinctive attempt at translating as I read (not that I need that crutch, bbut I never really got rid of it in the 20+ years I've been fluent) ... and that particular term always felt to me that it should read as "pooned"
