Funny thing about racism. It runs deep in hidden veins. My mother was always very liberal minded, and I grew up in the 60s and 70s. So race was never a big deal to me. My mother divorced my father in large part, in fact, because he was so racist and she found that distasteful. When one of my sisters brought over a black friend one day after school, my mom was delighted. And yet I brought a book home to read at one point, The Autobiography of Miss Harriet Tubman, and my mother was horrified. "Why are you reading that," she said.
I was very confused. Why shouldn't I be reading that? What's wrong with reading that

I've never heard of that one. Heard of The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, though.

White people need to mix up with them a bit more. Follow Mick Jagger! His first kid was black. The remaining 50 have been less black.

I was in 8th grade in Chicago for half a year, my first spring in the US. We had a quite ethnic neighborhood, north end of Chicago. But the biggest group was hispanics. I had a friend Mario that was one of a handful of black kids. He used to walk his little sister home from school through a rough neighborhood, then he could go out again by himself. A year earlier the only black person I had seen was a performer in some dance troupe performing for children in Helsinki.

Anyway, just recently we were that "fuck off" or something like that was not an attack. The auto-intercourse nature of the subject line seems rather mild in comparison.

It's not the fuck-off, but the calling someone a racist that I'm talking about (Tyrannical is a self-professed racist, so I'm talking about Seth really). Plus the way it was done - starting a thread about it and putting it in the title. Not sure if that qualifies as libellous, but it seems close to me.
