I think my manners are pretty much the same in both places, on and offline. Being online does give me more time to think, so I can be less 'short' with people that have bugged me - not always though. I bother more online, IRL I remove myself/just don't get into it, much more often.
I can't imagine (not to say it isn't the case) people dramatically different on and off line just because humans are creatures of habit, also even if audience and anonymity are having an effect (sure they do) that side of a person is going to be there the rest of the time so I reckon it'll keep popping it's head up.
Manners - on the net

"Whatever it is, it spits and it goes 'WAAARGHHHHHHHH' - that's probably enough to suggest you shouldn't argue with it." Mousy.

Re: Manners - on the net
Hm... I didn't mention anything about how I perceive myself to come across on the internet as opposed to real life... I reckon it's about the same... Bar the fact that I've not got anywhere near as many sources to draw on in real life (or maybe I do, with the advent of the iPhone ♥)... If I do become very assertive in a thread I always find myself very nervous upon reopening the thread, as I know most people won't just go "oh, fair enough, though I disagree".
I certainly don't find it easier to start slinging shite at people... people are still people, as far as I'm concerned... unless whoever I'm posting in response to is demonstrably a troll/twunt/what have you.
