They were not primitive... they mastered the Mousterian style of flint knapping when it came out, though I can't tell who invented it (but odds are they did, it's mostly associated with them).
What tech did cro magnon have to make them more "advanced"?

One of our African ancestors tought them how to make them.
It is what we Africans refer to as: "monkey see, monkey do"

Actuallty there are a lot of Germans that look rather like that Neanderthal, even some of the men.

I think the answer is rather simple and boring, a tropical species had a higher birth rate and simply out bred the neanderthals.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

You've never been to Ireland, have you?
The birth rate was astronomical, before they stopped listening to god.
As it was in most countries.
The difference between the south and the north, was milder winters, allowing more children to survive in the south. There was no good way of storing food for the winter, so you had to find enough to eat every day.
And many of the big herd animals would migrate south for winter, which is a bonus, if you live in the south.

I'm not saying that they were. But they were a lot less advanced than today's hunter-gatherers.

When you say that they were smart enough to hunt individual prey, I'm sure they were, but were they advanced enough? They didn't have bows and arrows. I don't know if they could dig pit-traps. I doubt it, you would think the evidence would still be there.
Even today, a modern man, without a gun or bow, or modern stuff that we take for granted, would find it incredibly difficult to hunt and catch individual animals, and kill them with a spear.
Herds give you a much higher chance.
I've read extracts from studies that said that Neanderthal sites seem to cluster around natural funnels, where migrating animals would be forced to concentrate, like narrow gorges.
They could work a trap, with people at the rear, driving animals towards the waiting spears.

You're confusing cultural differences with genetic differences accumulated over hundreds of thousands of years.
It's entirely possible neanderthal women went into heat and were only fertile for a season like almost all other animals.

It's also entirely unlikely. I don't think you understand how close to us Neanderthals were.
They shouldn't be called a separate species, since the fact that everyone except sub-saharan Africans have Neanderthal genes, proves that they interbred with the ''out of Africa'' lot perfectly well.

Neanderthal were basically just like us, and the differences were more racial than anything else.

I'm not sure that's a genetic trait that we are better off without. It has the advantage of giving males a whole month off to watch football and mow the lawn without the ball-and-chain feeling him up all the time and then getting bitchy when she doesn't get any. It would make men and women much better friends I think...just look at dogs.

I'm not sure it would be conductive to human society if the entire population went super PMS crazy at the same time for a period of a month or two.

Humans came onto the scene. Neanderthals died of embarrassment.
