yeah the australian coverage has been really critical of the decision to disqualify Sagan. Andre Greipel, another top sprinter initially criticised what Sagan did, but when he watched the slow mo replays he issued a correction saying that he was wrong to criticise Sagan. He reckons it was well within the rules.

Yeah. The others won't be that upset that Sagan is gone. Gives someone else a chance to win it for a change. I'm a Greipel fan, but I think he's past his best.

Exciting stage. Switch over if you have access. Romain Bardet and his AG2RLM team have attacked in the wet on the descent of the previous Col. Ripped the peleton apart. Plenty of crashes. Still 2 monster HC climbs to go, with more rain coming. AG2RLM have three riders up ahead at the front of the race, so they can drop back to help Bardet on the last climb. The gauntlet has been thrown down to Froome, Porte, Quintana, Contador et al.! :ab:

Aru has attacked on the last giant climb, literally 1 second after Chris Froome put his hand up with a puncture! There's gunna be words. Unwritten rule is that u don't attack when your rival has a mechanical problem.

Froome has caught back up. The other two heads of state (Porte and Quintana) checked Aru's attack and then refused to support him.
