The question is, can England remember how to bat and make this the draw it is shaping up to be, or will they swat at flies again and get themselves out to stupid balls? :tea:

A sensible declaration at 9 for 570. We can have a decent go at the English for 20 overs or so...

England all out for less than 200, I predict. Could be a whitewash, this series. Oz have picked up a few gears from the summer, England have gone in reverse.

The beautiful thing about cricket is that it can be so unpredictable. England's position is not too dissimilar to where they were at Headingly in 1981. When the poms were invited to follow on, Ladbrokes offered odds of 500 to 1 for the Australians to lose. I was riveted to the radio for the entire duration of the test. England won.

I can't see it happening here. Who taught Johnson to bowl straight? :lay:

England all out for 172.

Oz decided to bat again rather than enforce the follow on, probably to give Johnson a rest...

Currently 3 for 72, so a lead of 470. I predict a second declaration when the score reaches a lead of 550...

Maybe they are expecting the wicket to deteriorate. After the rain on day one it may well develop cracks and start turning.

Why do teams never enforce the follow on?

Because that just wouldn't be cricket. An invitation is, and it would not be cricket to refuse one. ;)

A century partnership and two English batsmen with 50+ - am I hallucinating?
