Oh some women have won it. The way it was made out on the TV it's as if no British person has won it in 77 years.

Oh right! Because the men's tournament is more important to win somehow :fp:

In my crystal ball, I see Jeremy Paxman apologizing at the end of Newsnight tonight. Last night, he somehow managed to imply (indirectly) that Andy Murray was ... English. :mob:

That's interesting because the Beeb earlier made smug emphatic yet semi-serious mention of the fact that women had won it but not men. Still perhaps its less important because they only play 2/3 of a full match. Not that I'm saying they should play 5 sets, Mens tennis should be reduced to 3. That way it might be over a lot fucking quicker.

I hate all this petty tribalism. Chuck out the English and Scots, bloody illegal immigrants that they are, and form a new country...Albion perhaps?

Murray beat Verdasco today again in the French Open. A very entertaining 3-setter, especially when the effects mike caught Verdasco's foul-mouthed ranting at the umpire late on. :hehe:

The big question is: If Murray somehow beats Nadal tomorrow, will David Cameron come to the final? And/or Alex Salmond? :hehe:

Come to think of it, will Putin be at Roland Garros on Saturday to support Sharapova? One suspects not somehow.

Hey! Murray finally won another tournament - his first since Wimbledon,. Granted, it was not a big one, but they all count.

Watching him struggle in the heat and humidity in China confirms that yes, he is definitely British Scottish. :tea:
