Kid Has Crazy Rollerskating Skills

Post by amused » Wed Oct 03, 2012 3:35 am

I just bought some 'trick' skates and made a set of cones. I've tried working through the cones with the basic tricks a couple of times now. This is going to take some time, but soooo much fun.

I'm nowhere near this kid's skill level, but to me, this is art on wheels. Watch it fullscreen with the music on, and watch his feet - lots of one toe and one heel moves:

Every time I watch that video I get inspired and depressed at the same time. I can barely crisscross my feet through a line of cones.

This site is in French and is the best compilation of the tricks through cones:

I'm working on the Niveau set at the upper right of the list. There are three 'official' cone spacings - 50cm, 80cm, and 120cm. It's not a lot of space for any of them when you are first starting out. I think the kompakombo beginner videos are with 80cm spacing, but I don't know. I do know that 120cm spacing is already a challenge.
