The ladies did eventually play the game and North Korea passed colombia off the park 2-0. Apart from totalitarianism and cult of personalities North Korea are damn good at women's football as our matildas have found out and the men aren't too shabby albeit the men's is kind of a japan second XI.

You know that a Korean runner was forced to compete for Japan in the 1936 Olympic marathon, which he won? He did get to carry the torch into the Olympic stadium in Seoul in 1988 though ... better late than never.
