A policeman in New South Wales pulled over a driver who had been weaving in and out of the traffic.
He approached the car window and said "Sir I need you to blow into this breathalyzer".

The man reaches into his pocket and produces a doctor's note.

On it was written:
"This man suffers from chronic asthma.
Do not make him perform any action that may leave him short of breath".

The policeman said "Okay then I need you to come and give a blood sample"

The man produced another letter.

This one said:

”This man is a hemophiliac.
Please do not cause him to bleed in any way".

So the officer said: "Right, I need a urine sample then".

The man produces a third letter from his pocket.

It read:

"This man plays cricket for Australia; please don't take the piss out of him"

So, what are people thinking for the Cricket World Cup? South Africa - India final?

Australia should get through the early stages but won't make the final IMHO. Could be wrong. Can't see England getting any further than Oz though.

-------------------------------

Thought I'd add this link, as it may help any Americans who stumble in here understand the sport, this place has one of the best descriptions of cricket rules and such I've ever come across, and I've always given this link when stumped* Americans ask what Cricket is:

http://www.dangermouse.net/cricket/

There's also a subpage that compares baseball with cricket, and starts with baseball and gradually changes the basic rules to end up with a basic summary of how cricket works here:

http://www.dangermouse.net/cricket/baseball.html

It's not all totally up-to-date, but if you don't understand cricket after reading that site through entirely, there is no helping you, I'm afraid.

Our form going in has been good, after the crushing defeat of England 6-1

We could make it 4 World Cups in a row!

When Ireland were at 111-5, they were 400-1 to win with bookies. 400-1. That's the highest ever successful run-chase in the World Cup, and the fastest ever century (by Kevin O'Brien) in the World Cup.

400-1.....sigh.

Amazing effort. England are running on empty after the Ashes.

Everyone here at work was talking about it, which is amazing ... most Irish people have only the vaguest interest with Cricket. But beating England, and like that ... :td:

One lucky punter did in fact put 25 (Pounds? Euros?) at 400-1 ... the easiest 10 grand ever.
