Am I the only one pissed off with the vuvuzelas?

I know I'm an easily irritated arse with a short fuse, but I have done my best to try and ignore them - I really thought I would get used to them, but they've just got worse and worse. My wife is going to throw me out of the house if I don't fuck up complaining.

The last straw was yesterday's Holland match. When Kuyt scored, there was a barely audible little crescendo of girly cheers from the crowd which were quickly drowned out by a ratcheting up of the wail of plastic trumpets (I refuse to call them Vuvuzelas because it gives them some kind of cultural credence) - Kuyt's joy was met with pure unemotion. At that point this World Cup died for me - I have now switched off and written it off as a pathetic aberration. I console myself with the thought that the 2014 tournament in Brazil should be wonderful, and after waiting eight years rather than the usual four my enjoyment and anticipation will be even more enhanced.

World Cup 2010 RIP.

It's alway nice to see the samba at the Brazil games. I say see, because I couldn't fucking hear it!

Although it should be "Insistente come la vespa" - musical directions are traditionally given in Italian. I presume that is Latin??

About me: Twoflower is the optimistic-but-naive tourist. He often runs into danger, being certain that nothing bad will happen to him since he is not involved. I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life
