It's not really derailing if you're talking about booze, is it? Carry on. :tea:

I'm following the transfer window thingy on sky sports and drinking oddly a good combination.

Ireland 1-0 up away to Cyprus in the World Cup Qualifiers after only 5 minutes.

... and nearly 1-1 after 6 minutes. :lay:

The last time Ireland played away to Cyprus, they lost 5-2. :ddpan:

2-1 to Ireland, Robbie Keane's 40th goal for his country. 10 minutes to hold on for a barely deserved victory ... :levi:

Thank fuck for cheap cask wine i passed out before i could watch the socceroos get beat 3-1 by south korea. :( Its only a friendly but i think pim was crazy to have shane steffanutto from NQ fury in the A-league the worst defence in the league playing for them surely Scott Jamieson would be better suited (not biased at all *cough*)

When I think of Ray Houghton, the first thing that always comes to mind is not the Giants Stadium 1994, but the Neckarstadion 1988. June 12th to be exact.

Listen, don't be complaining :toetap:. You made the World Cup finals in a canter this time, after taking my long-standing advice to join the Asian qualifying section, thus avoiding a do-or-die showdown with a South American or European country. You should try qualifying out of Europe sometime . Australia turned over Ireland 3-0 a few weeks ago in a friendly, but you don't hear us complaining about it ...

... because we're too embarrassed. :hehe:

World Cup update:

England are beating Croatia out the door (as we say in Ireland), 5-1 with just minutes to go. South Africa beckons for Ingerland.

Scotland lost 1-0 at home to the Netherlands, and that is almost certainly that for them.

Italy beat Bulgaria 2-0, which is an OK result for Ireland. A draw would have been better (Ireland are now only likely to get a play-off spot), but a Bulgaria win would have been a nightmare scenario.

England have qualified without dropping a point and with 2 games to go - their best ever performance in WC qualification. I think I'll have a beer - Oh! I seem to have one in front of me!
