Because we have significance to ourselves. We seem to want our existence to mean something particular to us while at the same time external to us, when so often we skip right past the fact that our existence means everything to us - all meaning lies therein. Existence is all we have for now. Existence is all we can ever have. Existence is enough.

(Yeah, I did a lot of mushrooms in my younger years - and my later years too!)
