Anti-problematic stuff.

Normally, killing another character unprompted in Red Dead Redemption 2means taking a hit to your honor meter in the game, but there’s one notable exception to that rule: the KKK.
GameRevolution confirms that there’s pretty much no downside the killing every hooded racist you meet in Red Dead Redemption 2. Just don’t let any Ku Klux Klan members escape or you will get reported for murder. (Maybe in a future update Rockstar Games can fix that so instead a nearby town throws a parade in your honor.)

Are you a member of the Florida Citizens’ Alliance, Coito?
Like I said. The Republican party is a bigger threat to life on earth than the Nazi party. I really think this is indisputable.
In America’s Science Classrooms, the Creep of Climate Skepticism
Conservative groups are working hard to challenge the teaching of mainstream climate science in schools. In Florida, they’ve found a winning strategy.

In America’s Science Classrooms, the Creep of Climate Skepticism
Conservative groups are working hard to challenge the teaching of mainstream climate science in schools. In Florida, they’ve found a winning strategy.
https://undark.org/article/climate-chan ... lassrooms/
full article: https://undark.org/article/climate-chan ... lassrooms/Prominent on the group’s expanded menu of concerns was climate change, and humanity’s presumed role in driving it. The Alliance’s members began line-reading school textbooks for violations of their beliefs, creating carefully detailed reports on how many times, and in what context, elementary and high school students were learning about rising seas, or melting ice in Antarctica. “Unfortunately, what it’s become is indoctrination and not education. That’s our major problem,” Vernon said, echoing a prevailing concern among members of the Alliance and likeminded conservatives everywhere: the unchecked power and control over social institutions by perceived liberal elites. “We’re really concerned,” he added, “that our kids are not being educated, [but] simply indoctrinated in the philosophy of the academic aristocracy.”
With the ascension of the Alliance, the Sunshine State has become ground zero for an intensifying ideological battle taking place across the nation — one that has conservative groups wrestling for control over how climate science will be taught to American students. The science classroom, after all, remains the dominant venue in which those students first encounter the topic, and it greatly informs how students eventually square-up to the veracity of climate change — either as something they believe to be happening and worth responding to politically, or as a phenomenon of nature, underserving of public funds and political action.
The outcome matters: Whoever wins over the minds of this upcoming cohort of American voters will, to a large extent, shape the nation’s policies on climate change for decades to come. Surveys suggest that more Americans than ever now understand the human-climate change connection, but as voters head to the polls for the 2018 midterm elections, more than 40 percent still remain unconvinced that climate change is predominantly caused by human activity. The best way to nudge that number higher, conservative groups seem to be wagering, is to target youngsters in America’s science classrooms.

It's not 'mainstream climate science', it's just 'climate science', or 'science'.

Yebut socialist agenda! Wealth redistribution! Thwarting fiscal growth and crippling the engine of economic progress!
Re: Even more problematic stuff
Poor Soros...poor, poor non-SS Soros...
I sure hope whoever opens his mail doesn't get hurt because of his wealth, fame and celebrity. Poor Soros would probably have to attend a VERY expensive funeral. Poor guy.

Re: Even more problematic stuff
It doesn't though, at least not to my main point - which was 'Soros is not in any sense 'poor'.
He was accused of being SS (wrongly, it seems) and it wouldn't matter if he was. People in terrible situations are likely to do things which aren't easy to understand later.
Whatever the case, his story was only interesting (interesting enough for people to interview him about on TV) because he is wealthy, powerful and a celebrity.
I understand you wish I would maintain my position behind that error, but I never really cared about whether he did or didn't do it, the point was that, as a wealthy, powerful celebrity, he is not 'Poor Soros', except by torturing the definition of the word.Hermit wrote: ↑Sat Nov 03, 2018 6:30 am
Does any of this make him a collaborator? I think not. The story of Soros's alleged SS membership/collaboration is an outrageous fabrication Gullibly accepting and spreading it reflects really badly on your intellectual and moral character. In short, you disgust me.
For the record, I generally enjoy debating people I disagree with, but this does not mean I should spend a lot of time with those who spread blatant lies while simultaneously displaying their intellectual deficiencies. I have therefore decided to minimise my interactions with you from now on. You are a waste of time.
His mailroom may be in danger, but without a doubt, the security staff who go through his inbound mail know the risks.

Re: Even more problematic stuff
Have you never heard the phrase "that poor bastard"? It doesn't actually mean the person in question is destitute and illegitimate. What the blazes is the matter with you? I can't believe you're still rattling on about something so trivial about which you are so wrong.

'Poor bastard' almost always refers to someone in a bad position, down on his luck.Seabass wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 6:23 pmHave you never heard the phrase "that poor bastard"? If you see Soros that way, you must be in a very good place indeed.
I see him as 'poor Soros' in the same way you might see Trump as 'poor Trump', since both are megalomaniac billionaires who don't have to deal with the things you and I understand as 'problems'.
If you had dangerous things sent you in the mail, I would say 'poor Seabass', since it would be something dangerous you had to deal with on your own. With this guy, he might get a slightly larger security bill.
I've heard the phrase 'that poor bastard', but seldom heard it used unironically when referring to the ruling class.

He's rich. Come the revolution he'll be in the fields doing honest labor with the rest of the Capitalist Pig Oppressors and attending daily Reeducation Seminars. If we don't shoot him, of course.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Re: Even more problematic stuff
I'm not so sure the revolution will be all that good...I kind of have it good...a bit of extra belly...nice kit...free time...fuck, I might be one getting overthrowed.

Re: Even more problematic stuff
There is an old guy here who was building a big cat to sail out the MacKenzie to the sea and retirement adventure. I have a feeling he is going to run out of time. Maybe I should grab that from the estate. Trouble is, last I heard, the sail was going to be so expensive, he had started fitting it for a diesel...

If I had it to do over again I'd get a motor sailer. For the sail, get an industrial sewing machine and buy some canvas.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

No, this thing is BIG. I think the pontoons are over 60' each (though that is maybe a conservative estimate)
I don't know boats, or the old guy very well. He just looks old enough that he might be building it for someone younger...he runs a fibreglass shop, and has made the pontoons out of that stuff.
