The sale of mobile AC's has gone through the roof. The sun strength is at a very dangerous high. The system of pumping fresh water into the rivers to stop salinisation of the rivers has been put into use for the first time. It was built 20 years ago as precaution.

Due to lower amounts of water flowing in the major rivers; Maas (Meuse), Rijn (Rhine) and Waal salt water is coming further up the estuaries affecting the agriculture land; too much salt is unhealthy. This was realised years ago that this could happen and system of huge pumps was built that reversed the flow from the IJsselmeer back into the major river through a system of sluices. It had never been used until yesterday and it worked perfectly.

Netherlands is below sea level isn't it? In which case the ground water would likely be pretty salty.
