What are your qualifications? Why do you wake up every morning certain that you know best how the world ought to be?

I don't have qualifications. Rather, I would listen to those that do and fill my board full of people best suited to the role. I would basically run an internal, governmental meritocracy. I'd have climate scientists running the EPA. Physicists running the Irish branch of the ESA. Economists running the economy. And highly qualified educators running the education system.

What I definitely would NOT do is put people into positions that are diametrically opposed to and hell-bent on running institutions they are appointed to into the ground for ideological or corporate reasons. Because that would be the height of stupidity.

I am always right, which I feel would give me a distinct advantage when deciding the correct path to navigate.

I doubt every opinion I hold strongly. I think that would make me a good leader. I also think it would make it impossible for me to make decisions!

I've always been good at strategy games. Particularly if I can run the world with a mouse and keyboard.

I'd just get up in the morning and decide what I wanted to do that day. Fuck 'em, I'm the Emperor.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I am a retired maths and physics teacher.

That should be enough to make me a superb Supreme Galactic Overlord. :tea:

OK, so that's an automatic disqualification...

No matter how many years you have taught maths for, you have insufficient divisions to become a Galactic Overlord, let alone a supreme one. Count your lucky stars that your missus permits you to be the Supreme Galactic Overlord in terms of deciding what cardigan to wear. I assume she does let you choose.

Having been dropped on my head from change commode height by my then five year old sister when I was about three months old I am better qualified for the rôle of Worst Leader of Rationalia than any other forum member.

Economists running the economy.
They might be part of my team, but not the only people running the economy. The economy is in service to the social goals of a society. We need people who understand the broader social impact of economic (and all) policies.

I'd save all the worry about who to select to run what. I'd just run everything. You damn well know I'm qualified, Hayden! :bored:

Rationalia relies on voluntary donations. There is no obligation of course, but if you value this place and want to see it continue please consider making a small donation towards the forum's running costs.
Details on how to do that can be found here.
