That as well.

It's a bit like watching men breast-feeding.

I reckon women soccer players don't care what ancient perverts think they should be wearing.

And some have a lot to protect which is why hockey clothes would not work.

What protective gear are they wearing that hockey players don't?

Breast protection. Rather obvious. A hokey ball seldom comes in that region whereas a football often does and hard sometimes.

Obvious? I've never seen a woman soccer player with padding over their breast.

It does need padding as protection. There are special sport bra's for football.

I don't really see much difference between the hockey uniform and the soccer uniform. In the images shown, the field hockey ladies are better looking than the soccer players chosen by mistermack. Anytime a better looking woman is put in anything, it looks better. A good looking woman in baggy sweat pants and a hoodie still looks good.

The thing I see is that the shirts in soccer have short sleeves while the shirts in the hockey pictures are sleeveless. And, instead of shorts, they have skirts. But, I think there is more falling in soccer, so the shorts are better off being longer. The ladies tend to play on astroturf, so sliding on the ground on one's skin is not advisable. That would also make some sleeves a bit more helpful than playing without.

I am not sure what women soccer players want to wear, if it's something different than the standard uniform. Are they, do you think, pissed off that they don't get to wear a little skirt? I haven't heard them complain about the uniforms. I would suspect, however, that if a soccer league announced that the women's uniform would change to involve a miniskirt, tight form-fitting shirt, sleeveless.... there would be a tad bit of back-lash in the offing. I am not sure FIFA wants that kind of publicity. Just think of the wave of articles from Slate, The Guardian, Buzzfeed, Vox, The Atlantic, and the chirping of every left wing progressive pundit... "FIFA Wants Female Soccer Players to Turn You On; Dress Sexier" --- "Proof the Patriarchy: Male League Owners Scrimp on Fabric for Women's Uniforms." It would be a stream of calls for firing people.

It wouldn't be a bad thing to give women a range of fashion options to choose from for playing sports...

As long as the uniform is within the rules of the game, then the team (male or female) can create whatever style uniform they want.

They don't get many spectators though.
Women's football and rugby are being pushed like hell here on the BBC, but the stands are still empty.

Neymar's transfer fee of $260 million would pay for every female professional in the world.

If they want to change things for the better, stop running round like men.
They play like second-rate men, and look like second-rate men. Why would you pay to watch it?

With hockey on the other hand, I'd rather watch the women than the men.
