How do you approach your own death?
Is it important? something you think on? or is it something you avoid thinking about? saving it all until that very last minute? a mystery or a inevitability? does what happens after death matter or not? and in what way?
What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?

Without enthusiasm.

Sideways, and with a pound of mackerel in my backpack.

Foul-tasting things they are, certainly the Oz version...
But certainly interesting...

Not if you dice them and brew them along with some tea or mix them in with honey. Mixed with honey they also last a long time. You could harvest them around Noosa or Byron Bay and have a supply back in Sydney for many months. So I was told anyway.JimC wrote:Foul-tasting things they are, certainly the Oz version...

Re: How do you approach your own death?
There's actually a serious point I am making, despite not having the energy to make it. I mean "you" as in the concept of the "self".Hermit wrote:pronounpErvin wrote:Define "you".

Given that we are soulless atheists, death is the total and final end to a self, defined in any form you like...

Re: How do you approach your own death?
yeah. But that's why we need "you" defined. You've made an assumption that the "you" of yesterday is the same "you" of today. I disagree. I've described my view of this before. We die at least once per day (when we sleep), but more likely millions of times a day (between discreet moments of awareness). When you view death like this, the final death becomes no different. Nothing to fear.
