Economics

A economic system is defined by a consensus of educated idiots. Could be whatever you wanted it to be then?

So long as the most basic needs of society are met any economic ideology is viable, if not desirable. In Capitalism we have the domination of products over those who produce them and, consequentially, the systemic perversity of the quest of the producers to secure ownership of their own products while failing in that same quest to an ever greater degree as the efficiency of production increases. We're told this is the least worst economic arrangement of all, and that may be true from a certain point of view that sees the maximum good achieved through the absolute increase in share of production - those kinds of persons validate their existence by, and excuse the evils of society for, the opportunity to personally own a shiny new product.

There are other ways, of course, but it seems that humankind is statistically too immature and stupid to follow through on them. Economics is simply the scientific fine-tuning of a flawed, and some might say evil, ideology.

If economists were any good at their thing they wouldn't be economists.

I know vaguely how a money system should function, nothing to be ashamed about, knowing more than an economist. :coffee:

There's a huge difference between a car mechanic and a car designer. But if they are any good they should be able to design and fix a car, a actual car that drives on actual roads, rather than one imagined in some theoretical setting. :coffee:
