Plastic Beer Glasses

Post by cronus » Fri Sep 27, 2013 9:19 am

Do plastic beer glasses indicate trust is breaking down in a society? Seems they are more and more evident. Surely in a civil society there is no need to fear a traditional glass for beer? What next? Plastic spoons, knives and forks along with a paper plate? This and other over the top 'health and safety' features of modern society cant be healthy? Surely one six inch scar to the face once every other year for some unlucky dude is a price well worth paying for genuine trust between thousands of drinkers at a bar?

Ahem ... glass bottles for soft drinks are also a thing of the past. Remember when they were taken to the shops for recycling? Plastic is just so much more attractive to today's consumer economies. That you can't stab someone with a plastic beer glass is just a big plus.

Plastic leaches loads of carcinogenic chemicals that dissolve all that much faster with beer. Can you have a refund if it can be proven the plastic caused your terminal cancer?

I find plastic beer 'cups' to be deeply offensive.

I think you'll find it's excessive consumption of the liquid in the container that's the problem.

So do I, there's nothing to rival the stately efficience of the pint glass.

:drunk: Yes, but if we all carried guns we could just shoot each other and still enjoy beer out of a glass.

I'm thinking this is a good yardstick for the health of a society.

I thought this was going to be another beer googles thread. :fp:
Although it may look like a forum, this site is actually a crowd-sourced science project modelling the slow but inexorable heat death of the universe.
