My Jesus Year...
I'm turning 33 in a couple days. I should probably do something monumental but I don't feel like being crucified for the sins of humanity. Any suggestions

Re: My Jesus Year...
Yah, I would definitely wait to get crucified. Do it during the winter months, so you can look forward to the heat of hell for three days. And then pop back up for some sweet sweet omnipotence.
For now, though....have you tried shwarma?

Re: My Jesus Year...
I spent my 33rd year being very pleased that I hadn't died age 32, not that there was actually any real reason for thinking that. (I managed to persuade myself (but not very strongly) as a teenager that I wouldn't pass 32 due to my unhealthy diet.)
So I think you should spend the next year thanking the Lawd that you no longer believe in Him.

I'm 33. It's like being 32 for me. Largely because I keep forgetting I'm 33

Ah, now you see you've fallen into the trap of assuming that everyone knows the cultural reference you've made to "crucifixion for the sins of humanity".rachelbean wrote:I think it's pretty straight-forward and coherent...what part are you having a problem parsingMiM wrote:I don't understand this. I'm still looking forward to the day that some JW or other approaches me (when I'm in the mood and have the time) and asks me whether I've heard the good news about Jesus, and I can start with "Who?" Back to first principles, guys - explain it all to me from the beginning.

More seriously, "Jesus year" and "should do something monumental [because of that]". The concept is completely alien to me.
