Is it wrong for a man to have sex with his brother?

Post by mistermack » Sat Apr 28, 2012 3:08 pm

We all know that incest is bad. Now that we know about genetics, we know the reason why.

But what if you're gay. Does that still apply? Is it still wrong, even thought there's no chance of inbred children?

I mean, say both your sons told you they were gay. That might be bad enough.
But what if they were a couple?
I try to be logical, but hell, that's much much worse.

Or is it? I'm sure it is, but why?

What do you mean by "wrong" exactly?

I asked first.

Logically, I can't see anything "wrong" in the usual sense of harm to others. So why does it feel so wrong?

Yeh, I can see why evolution would evolve a mechanism to avoid this happening.
Although you would think that evolution simply wouldn't evolve gays.

But the species closest to us, Bonobo apes, have sex with just about everybody, almost like shaking hands.
I don't know if they have taboos about sibling sex. If they do, it's the only one that they have.

I'm sure logically, I shouldn't feel that it's particularly wrong. But it does seem wrong. And I imagine that it does to most people.
I'd love to know what the Cardinals would make of it.

Don't brothers usually have sex? I don't know because I never had one. I just kinda figured that was normal. As for being a couple, hmm, I dunno. Why not, I guess. I actually saw a show about that once, maybe on 60 Minutes, about two adult lovers that were brothers. My initial reaction was, "What the cock?!" But then once the shock wore off, I had to remind myself why I'd always wanted a brother :hehe:
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

I can only speculate, but maybe homosexual behavior isn't a genetic issue, but perhaps a congenital one, in the sense of the mother's hormones during pregnancy or whatever. And there are gay people who do acknowledge that it was a conscious choice to be gay, though self-reports are often questionable. Anyhoo, back to sibling homosexuality, I imagine that children who haven't been fully trained wrt to societal norms by puberty would be interested in getting an orgasm with who or whatever was around them at the time. Mooooooo!!! Hell, that's a mating call, innit? :FIO: :FBM:

Now in these enlightened times, we are getting used to gays being out.

It is a natural reaction to go "ugh" at the thought of man-on-man sex though.

I'm not being nasty, that's just EXACTLY my reaction when I was first told that there were men who fancied men. It wasn't a learned reaction, because I didn't believe it when first told, so I know I'd never heard of it before that.

But now that lots of us are over that, and the public are more "enlightened", I still think that two brothers living as a couple would be too much for lots of people. They would have a big problem, I think.
Not from me, but I think society would give them a hard time.

We've had this discussion before, I think it was about a sister and a brother.

No, I don't think it's wrong for two consenting adults to have sex. But yeah, society would give them a hard time.

Identical twins have the same genome, wouldn't that be almost like having sex with yourself? :ask: Or siamese twins, if the other one controls the hand and the other one own's the willy...

What about father + adult son? mother + adult daughter?
