Yeah, that's the problem. It's impossible to know what he really stands for and believes. You can't have someone that unprofessional in the top job in the country/world.

Not at all - that's what's weird. And, I can't fathom all these lefties and self-identified liberals thinking Cruz is the more stable candidate.
Who are "all these lefties"? :ask:

You could ask why Cruz isn't getting the vitriol Trump is getting, or more. That would be a valid objection. But Trump is getting a perfectly proportional amount of vitriol.
Because Cruz isn't going to get the nomination, let alone have any chance against Hillary.

It's because he's totally trapped by the tu quoque fallacy. It's the fallacy he employs the most. It's based in inherent butthurt, I'm pretty sure.

Trump may well be the last nail in the coffin for political correctness and the existence of the Left as a moral authority, and they are scared shitless about it.

Stick to the sidelines, Tyrannical. We can tolerate your idiotic thought processes while it's just a side show. If you are going to try and argue with the adults you are going to get savaged. The irony of you accusing something of being "too ignorant" is fucking hilarious. :fp:

Yet another day passes in which twice as many people vote for Hillary than Trump...

Can independents vote in the republican primaries? It seems that in a lot (most?) of the dem primaries the independents can't vote. If they can't vote in the republican primaries, you might find that they could skew that figure quite a bit. At least on the dem side, the independents vote for Bernie by a very large margin over Hillary. Could they vote for Trump before Hillary in the Prez election?

I swear you've asked this question before........ It depends on the State, and even in a State democrats and republicans could have totally different rules on who can vote. :prof:

You can view the "closed" (only party members allowed to cast votes) vs "open" (any registered voter can cast a vote) primary election status of the various states, qualified by party in the case of primary elections that have already occurred, here. Depending on the state, it can vary from year to year as well. In California this year for instance, the Democratic party has decided to allow unaffiliated voters to cast a ballot in the presidential primary election, while the Republican party has not.

I think I asked it about the dems. But the broader question still remains: could the independents who might have voted for Bern in a general election vote for Trump before Hillary? Basically, are US independent voters on average more left, right, or centre?

I think roughly 45% of voters are independents, so that's obviously a huge block. I think on average they are neither left or right to center, just center. But when you are dealing with such a huge amount, 45% there are plenty of left and right centers there.

I could see the blue collar working class that liked Bernie's anti-(un)fair trade policy going to Trump, as their policies on trade aren't all that different. Maybe some of the anti-war supporters might see Trump as the lessor evil. Hillary does have a bit of a reputation as a warmonger.......
I think the upcoming presidential debates between Clinton and Trump are going to be hugely important, and that's really what's going to determine where the independent vote goes.

There's no equivocation. Only misogyny.
Birther Trump has about as much chance of pulling the Center to his side as he does of getting into Augusta CC.
