Sure, it's going to be an arbitrary line that someone or some group sets, so if we're not going to use the established lines, why not mine?

We can use yours too, it doesn't matter. We all know what we're actually talking about, so the label is mostly bullshit.

I haven't seen a film with anything like a real story that was made since 1990... even written erotica has been singularly indigent in that department, and that started long before.

I couldn't really say Svartalf, however I'd imagine they're still linear and work on the basis of cause and effect. Which supplies a narrative, plot and story are separate things. " Blue collar Guy walks in and pumps BBW MILF in ass" is still narrative.

Not really... no context, no backstory, nothing but raw sex, that's not a narrative, that's an event, even if a long one

I agree with Audley, it is a narrative, but it's not a story and it has no discernible plot. It's only purpose is to sexually arouse the viewer. And THAT is a good definition of "obscenity," as the court put it. It has no "socially redeeming value" and it only appeals to the "prurient interest." Now whether one believes that being sexually aroused has "socially redeeming value" and that "prurient interests" are as thoroughly protected under the First Amendment as any other interests is not really relevant.

But this is why in most high-end commercial porn you have some totally ridiculous plot, stilted dialog from non-actors and a minimal attempt at some sort of "message." That takes the sex itself and places it in a First Amendment-protected wrapper of free speech, which makes it "pornography" rather than "obscenity."
