The subject is whether being a Nihilist means you are miserable, since many people assume that considering everything ultimately meaningless is a negative stance. Since I consider everything ultimately meaningless I am accused of being miserable. I was elucidating that I am not and thus answering the original proposition.Orwellian wrote:Well...if they enjoy it, and it's all pointless anyway, why would it matter that you're laughing at them? And, on what basis do you laugh at them, as their activities are no more or less pointless than yours?Audley Strange wrote:Being nihilistic myself, people often consider me miserable or joyless for not partaking in their pointless rituals and indulging in pre-proscribed "fun" activities, but what they don't seem to get is that I'm not miserable, I have a whale of a time laughing at the amount of meaningless effort they go to in order to claim they enjoy themselves as the gladly turn themselves into little exhibits of the Spectacle.
While it is irrelevant to the discussion I'll answer your pointless questions.
It doesn't matter to me.
On the basis that I find it funny.
