I made my first million by moving to a country with a weak currency.

I couldn't. Or rather, I probably could, but not ethically, so I wouldn't.
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

The not ethically part goes without saying, else you'd already be rich :prof:
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

There was an American book published some years back called "The Millionnaire Next Door."

This book pointed out that millionnaires are not rare. They live among us. The one major quality self made millionnaires tend to have is frugality. They do not spend their money recklessly.

So, to the question, can you become a millionnaire? Sure you can. There is no secret about it. Just sacrifice.

You are better off being self employed, especially if you can hire other people to make money for you, though lots of professionals like doctors and lawyers and dentists wind up as millionnaires, even when they work for the man.

It takes about 20 years of self sacrifice. Save every penny from your earnings you can, and invest that money in something that returns compound interest.

Technically, I am a millionnaire, since my assets exceed $US 1 million in value. My cash flow is low, though, so maybe I am living up to the message of being frugal.

I'm self-employed. When do I get my cheque for a million bucks!? :lay:

Course, I've only been at it for a few months. Still a million bucks would be nice.

I could start a drug research outfit. One startup in 100 makes a drug, which they then license to Big Pharma or sell the whole company. Kind of like gambling. Need a couple million to make 10.

It isn't that hard to be a paper millionaire, a million just ain't what it used to be. Getting you mitts on a mil in cash is a bit more difficult. I recommend meth cooking.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
