It seems to boil down to these ApeLuster's belief, which they likely don't even acknowledge themselves, that if a man gets emotionally upset at being rejected by a woman, that he is doing something wrong.

And, there is no recognition by these Apelusters that there are cultural customs that occur in dating and relationships -- and, that it might be cause for a teenage boy to think a teenage girl might be interested in him if certain signals are sent. They seem to equate this with men "expecting that any woman they're interested in must sleep with them."

Who are these Apelusters you refer to? It vaguely rings a bell, but for the life of me I can't recall. Must not have been very significant.

There is a point that seems to be missed and that is that it is fine to be upset by being rejected, but not to blame the rejecter.

It also seems to elude some people that someone can be upset without it being the fault of anyone. It eludes some guys in that article, so they blame the woman for not having the feelings they want them to. It eludes some women, so they assume that all men who feel crappy about being rejected must be blaming them.

It also eludes some women that the "nice guys" who are single might see some irony in women getting offended by men hitting on them when they go on at length about how shitty their boyfriends are. If I end up hanging out with someone who runs a business in my line of work and go on a rant about the problems in my current job, should I be offended if they let me know of an opening at their place?
