The green careening planet
spins blindly in the dark
so close to annihilation.
Listen. No one listens. Meow.

There's a Media Action Network for Asian Americans? How come they've never sent a me a solicitation letter?
Seriously, Asians really need an equivalent to the NAACP or the ADLBB, just so we don't become the only socially acceptable racial whipping boys around.

I don't recall chink being a term of abuse.
I suppose any slang at all is abuse now, if the people referred to aren't of European ancestry.
You can call Australians Aussies, but you can't call Pakistanis Pakkis. It was once ok, but got hijacked by skinhead racists.
But chink never was abusive in the UK, as far as I'm aware.
I can remember Richie Benaud, the cricket commentator saying "the pakkis are claiming a catch", with no adverse comment from anyone. That was just about the time the skinheads were getting notorious for "pakki bashing", so shortly after, it became a term of abuse.
We used to get sweets from the pakki shop, and go for a chinky, ( chinese meal ) without any racial overtones. It was just slang then.

While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
