I used to believe booze was bad for me.

I used to think it couldn't be doing me any harm. Now I disagree.

The phrase "in excess" might creep into this conversation at some point.

There was a time in my life when the cap on a 1.75 l of booze only went one way, off. I learned me somethings since then.

I'm not sure I understand. You just put a bottle in a bag. And then the bottle becomes unbreakable?
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Glass bottle plastic bag?
I would try it but I don't believe it and it'd make a mess.

It can't be done, but I was so sure, I would have bet him all my money that it could.

No, then the bag becomes nonempty.

I once believed the government recommendations that it was healthy to limit fat to 30% of total caloric intake.

Aside from that, the closets I can come up with are things that I once believed, but I'm now uncertain about.

When I was VERY little, my great aunt told me that if you put a tiny grain of salt on the tail of a pied wagtail, it would become completely tame, and would sit on your hand and let you stroke it.

I spent days after that stalking wagtails, but never got close enough.
It was only after I started throwing great handfuls of salt at them, that they had to stop me, and tell me that she was just kidding. They were running out of salt.
