Depends on whether they manage to get any political leverage with me. Whoever is holding the gun is always worth having a conversation with. :smoke:

Speaking of cartoons....

A liberal is someone who faced with injustice will do anything they can to make themselves feel better about it.

A socialist is someone who faced with injustice will do anything they can to make everyone suffer that injustice equally.

A capitalist is someone who faced with injustice will do anything they can to personally benefit from it.

Quoting out of context used to be the preserve of the 'conservative right' but I see the disease spreads, vindicating my mutable stance. :smoke:

Hey, you're the one ignoring the facts; I just pointed it out.

ETA: Meh, so much for liberalism being "finished." The only advocate of it doesn't want to be bothered with facts.

Right. But why is that the "choice" today? What we loosely call liberalism is just the signpost of economic ascendancy. The US is now an empire under economic pressure and in the first stages of decline. The unlimited opportunity of a virgin wilderness has been raped. It's old news. The hope and encouragement of individual opportunity have been replaced by the self-interest of the haves and the fear and hopelessness of the have nots. It's economics. Not ideology or politics.

I looked up radical on Wikipedia.
Radical left means the far left. Radical right is the far right.
I'm going to vote for the radical centre. Which means extremely central.
I want a party that is as central as you can get.
So the commies and the capitalists can fuck off. Tax the rich heavily. Eliminate tax havens. Squeeze the poor.
Make it worthwhile being middle class. And spend money on what the middle class wants.
Good roads, cheap petrol, cheap wine and cheap air travel. Subsidise child care.

I think I'm onto a winner.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
