Surviving a Great Plague? Could You? How?

Post by cronus » Wed Oct 09, 2013 8:25 pm

Say you knew there was a Great Plague coming in a couple of years. With very high mortality and very infection and contagious with dormancy etc which makes it spread easy like the common cold. How would you go about surviving? Would you seek somewhere isolated and sit it out? or knowing most will die and wanting company in the aftermath try to sit it out isolated in the heart of town? What would you do? Give up?
What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?

Seek somewhere isolated and sit it out. It'd be a pretty easy one to avoid with the right precautions.

Take a LOT of vitamin C. Like, maybe TWO oranges - one after the other!!

Everyone should head for Seth's. He's got it covered. Sure a couple of us might peg it but chances are we'd overwhelm him. We could make him disease canary. :{D

I'd recruit a very big mute to carry me around. Tina Turner would be there as well.

Just keep loads of furry pets and stay where you are even if you are in the middle of an outbreak. Humans are a last resort for fleas, if all your pets die (and the rats) then get the fuck out of there.

I would buy a yacht, load it with supplies, and be in the middle of the ocean, hundreds of kilometres from the nearest other people (except the half dozen healthy young nubile females I have on board, ready to repopulate. Let no one say I have no concern for my fellow humans!).
