Weird event with the I King

Post by Svartalf » Thu Oct 03, 2013 7:29 pm

So I might have mentioned that when somebody launched a thred about zany books you have... (except I didn't), but I have a copy of that old oracular work, the I King (or I Ching) ... It's supposed to be for fortune telling, what it actually is, if you're focussed enough, is a formidable auto analysis tool... You ask a question about something you can do something about, and it gives you a viewpoint on your situation and the attitude to adopt.

For years, I had given it up because I could not focus and it gave me answers that did not make sense (if you know the book, the 'oracle casting' method is actually not as random as it seems, if you admit that the subconscious mind influences the manipulations and the resulting answer)... well, today was special, for I got one of those answers that are so apt they look like magic, I've had some of those over the years, which is why I believe that the irrelevant, nonsensical stuff is more a result of a wandering mind or an improperly framed interrogation than that the whole thing is random mumbo jumbo.

I don't really know how to apply it though.. it tells me to work on my problem instead of just living with it, and I don't kknow yet how to proceed, but if nothing else, it has given me a jolt and matter to reflect upon. My problem being that for decades I've been scatter brained and unable to concentrate as I used to in my youth (a fact the thing reflected by giving me the image of a prairie fire), and then it turned me on an answer called "work on what has been spoilt"... weird, but most apt.

Yes, I know, this may sound weird and not quite rational, but I needed to vent and talk about it, thanks for your attention.

Same as I got... got it used for a very reasonable price too, back when I had money and a new age oriented aunt in LA...
