It depends on how long the pain persists, and whether things like local anaesthetic creams or sprays, and/or ice treatment lessen the pain...

new I had, it had lasted for hours... maybe most of the day, now, I hope I don't get more before tomorrow, and I hope it's that she's seen a doctor and gotten good and efficacious treatment.

I remember reading about a nerve condition that causes pain in the extremities, but I can't remember what it's called.
Any pain in her toes?

Or, it could be down to poor circulation.
