You do know this that this was a false made up story by Christian Anti-Obama nutjobs at jihadwatch. That isn't to say atrocities aren't taking place by both sides in Syria through that's not a reason to support the one side that has a chance of actually stopping them

The fact that one reacts to a media story must always be predicated on "....if it's true." But as you say similar atrocities undoubtedly happen - eg a teenage girl WAS actually shot in the head for wanting girls to be educated - and so it's still valid to be having the debate about the issues raised in this fred.

We can also debate what to do about folk in the West who are every bit as nutty as the Taleban - and would be every bit as violent towards those who oppose them if they got the chance.
