I would think so, yes. Most guys I know now are a bit more open and willing to at least joke about doing it, with a clear understanding that we all obviously do (though probably not going into details about how often). But I don't know how much of that is because society's changed, or how much it's because we're older so have grown out of the teenage bravado thing.

I think society has changed an awful lot. You had the Victorian era when any mention of sex was taboo.
I hate to think what the punishment would be for wanking. They tended to decide that things were bad, and never question it. Nowadays, we question everything, and take nothing on trust, or respect for our betters. Well, less, anyway.

My mother was beaten mercilessly when she started school, for being left-handed. They actually tried to beat it out of her. That's how much society has changed over a short period.
Maybe in one more generation, people will be chattering away happily about masturbation. Maybe it will be taught in schools.
Well, it probably is now, but not by the teachers.
