Mileage left in the PS2

Post by Russell » Thu Feb 25, 2010 9:38 pm

Been offered a second had PS2 (slim version, 2 memory cards, 4 controllers and some games) so I have a couple of questions
[1] What sort of price would be reasonable?
[2] Is there much mileage left in the PS2?

This would mostly be used by my children (6 and 11).

Thanks

Russ.

Dude, there's loads of great games for the PS2! And the current PS3s are not backwards compatible, so a PS2 is worth getting if you don't wanna spend a fortune on a new console.
What's a reasonable price? Well, used PS2s are generally going for fifty bucks. It if includes four controllers ( ) and some games, I'd say a hundred bucks would be reasonable. What games are we talking? Any idea?

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Thanks for the quick reply. I should get the list of games this weekend.

I must admit I thought that there was some backward comparability with the PS2, I know the first version of the PS3 had it, then it was later removed, but had got it in my head there was some form o software emulation in the current version.

The PS2 is not a bad console at all, even if it isn't a graphical beast like the PS3 or Xbox 360. And there are some very very good games made for it.

Not for kids but I would almost buy another PS2 to play God of War again, and Shadow of the Collosus. Two exceptional games IMO.

I was a big playstation fan. I was quite upset when they priced me out.

I still wish I had my Ps2, mostly so that I could go back and play through GTA3 to GTA San Andreas. I'd also like to play the PS2 Pro Evolution Soccer games again as it was the jump to the current generation of consoled which saw this once great franchise go downhill, whilst FIFA keeps getting better.
