Playing through Fallout New Vegas again. Figuring out stuff I was never able to figure out before (because I'm stupid), like how to upgrade weapons, how to use special ammo, and how to build things like weapon repair thingies at the workbench. Also found several new companions. I never keep the companions long, though. They usually just get in my fucking way. Although I have to admit they do come in handy during the inevitable Legionary ambushes.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

That's all I have to say on the matter.

At least Bloodborne looks amazing.

Just finished Murdered: Soul Suspect. It was a game with so much "could've been"! The story was intriguing and kept me playing (and there were some very good twists at the end). The gameplay had some very good elements but no real threat & sweat. The only real monsters in the game are annoying and difficult the first couple of times, but once you get the hang of them, they are WAY too easy! So too much of the game just boiled down to lots of exploring EVERY room, nook, cranny and cupboard to get all the collectables. Replay value is ZERO unless you suffer from retrograde amnesia - but luckily, you can get the platinum trophy with only minimal effort on your first play - if there was any need to go through it again, nobody would bother!

Oh, and there's A LOT of woo! But that's fine in video games - especially one where the protagonist is a ghost striving to solve his own murder! It's only when people try and drag it out of fiction into the real world that it becomes an issue...

2.7/5 I would really like to see a sequel with far more action elements and a more progressive skill requirement. It plays like they spent ages on the story and investigation parts but the bloke that was supposed to program the fighting sequences got drunk for 6 months, so they just bolted on a few bits and put it out anyway! Had they replaced the ubiquitous demons with something more varied and Silent Hillish, this could have been a great game.

I'm playing the alpha of The Tomorrow Children on PS4 and it's quite simply one of the most original games I've played in a long time. Check out my write up here.

I've been playing a lot of the older Vita games, whenever I'm not playing Destiny anyway. Also tried Warframe for a bit today.

Hey! If you want a zombie game that doesn't suck check out Dying Light - they story is pure middle-school propaganda bullshit but the game is solid.

eta: Contra-Mysturgi - Elite Dangerous would be better named Elite Boring..

Helldivers on PS4.

I don't think I've ever played a game before where a message telling me that player X has joined the game has put me on high alert and fearing for my life. When players join your game they are dropped from orbit in pods and if you are standing below the crash site you are taken out.

Under the right license this could've been Starship Troopers: The Game, and like the film the killcount of bugs and other alien types is high. At the mission screen alien and player deaths are clocked up in real time. All missions won or lost add to a global campaign and you can literally see the push and pull on the progress bars which highlight galactic segments, taken one by one from the Earth outwards as the enemies are beaten back. Once the galaxy is free a new war begins and its difficulty is determined by how well the community has done.

The mechanics on this isometric, top-down shooter are solid and the action is crazy at higher difficulties. Enemies will swarm your team without balking if you cannot work together and compliment your load-outs. Friendly fire is on and co-ordination is essential. As a team member you need to select four drops to assist you and these can be anything from LMGs to airstrikes to mini-nukes. To call in airstrikes you need to key in codes on the d-pad, something like down, down, up, right, left, up. When the pressures on and you're the last man standing and you've to key in a code to drop a spawn beacon to bring your team-mates back in things can get really hairy as you pray the incoming pods hit high value targets and not you.

If your on PS3, 4 or Vita you need to get this game. Cross-Play is enabled so you can be playing with people from any platform.

Playing LA Noire at the moment. When Rockstar get it right, they are OSSUM - they get it right here.
