Playing Dragon Age 2. I'm an hour in and I'm still tinkering with the appearance of my character.

Just finished my second playthrough of FFXIII, which I've been fucking around with for quite a long while. I defeated the one remaining mark that I'd been unable to beat- that gigantic fucking cactus. I accomplished it by buying Pain Dampeners and White Capes for my team. Finally got smart, saw what cactard was hitting me with, bought the appropriate accessories to protect myself with, and upgraded and transformed them and then upgraded them again. We into into battle well protected, and didn't have an awful lot of trouble.
I also transformed my team's weapons into stage three ultimate weapons and fully upgraded them, and also maxed out my characters' Crysteriums. I figured that would make my team fucking invincible, and I'd totally kick any enemy's ass. Like, absolutely eviscerate them. That really wasn't the case, though. Kinda disappointed. Also annoyed that I couldn't fully upgrade and max out characters and weapons until after I already beat the game. Fucking stupid. If I've already beat the game, then what's the fucking point?
Anyway, went through the final boss battle again for the hell of it. It went swimmingly. Between everything and everyone being maxed out, and knowing from experience how to fight more effectively, I made short work of him.

Not sure what I'll play now. I guess I'll start Red Dead Redemption. Was hoping to play the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus reissues, but the release date has been pushed back :ddpan:
I also want to download the original Spyro games for my PS3, but I need a credit card to do it. I just ordered a debit card from my bank, so maybe I'll be able to do it with that. What a blast it'll be to play Spyro again! The real Spyro, that is.

Tat, it's pretty much standard in JRPGs that the main game isn't as difficult as the epilogue, that's why you need to do all that shit after it. Disgiea 3 is even more ridiculous than that, you finish the game at level 80 or so but your characters don't stop levelling up until Lv.9999

As for the PS3 store, you don't need a credit card, you can go into any game store and buy PSN cards with cash then enter the redeem code to put the money on your PSN account. There's another benefit to this in that if you look around you can often find deals for say $40 PSN cards being sold for $25 which obviously is better for you.

just an example here:

Once I graduate I'm going to start playing Assassins Creed Brotherhood!
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

PSN card? I didn't even know such a thing existed. Thanks!
I think the ability to go back in the game after you've beaten it is cool. I just think there should be more of a point to it. There should be some kind of reward or...I don't know. Like maybe hidden areas you can unlock or something.

He's mentioned before that he doesn't bother trying to get them, though by the sounds of it, he must have almost all of them for FFXIII without actually trying.

They just don't seem to be of any practical value :dunno: If they unlocked some extra, then that would be different :dunno:

They appeal to the OCD in me, I can't stand to see a game with less than 100% written beside it and they usually involve playing the game differently than normal and exploring the entire thing more than you would usually as well as an incentive to try the game on the hardest settings in most cases. I find them rewarding when I get one that was difficult.
