Why? I have a PS2 as well, and both God of War 1 and 2.

XBox owners with just XBox.

lol.

PS2 came out some time before 360.
And by your logic "I feel sorry for anyone with just a PS3"

For example, you don't get "Nuts and Bolts" which is one of the greatest games ever created in the history of entertainment, spanning back to the fucking Cambrian explosion.

You wouldn't have, in your insular little world.

tattuchu wrote:Thanks. I always use Relentless Assault. When health gets low, I switch to three medics so everybody heals each other. I figure that's the fastest way to get everybody back up to full health, but I may very well be mistaken.
That is the quickest way of healing poeple but in most fights you don't actually need all 3 as medics, If you load Hope with the highest level magic buffers (I think they have names like Mage's braclet and stuff like that) in all of his accessory slots, (or at least 2 of them) then he does a great job of keeping everyone healed by himself leaving Fang as a Com and Lightning as a Rav so that you don't need to stop dealing damage. In some of the tougher fights having Lightning on Com / Rav, Hope as Medic and Fang as Sentinel helps a lot since Fang will draw attacks to her with defensive bonuses due to the Sentinel role meaning Hope has less work to do and Lightning can keep the stagger bar up until you get a window to change back to Relentless Assault.
I always have my party set as Lightening, Fang, and Hope. Vanille I find slightly annoying, but I'm quite fond of Hope. Let's not discuss that further.
That's the set up I'd recommend you stick with though for a few fights it's worth your while to swap Vanille in when she's leveled up a bit since she learns a unique spell called "death" that does exactly what it says on the tin for a lot of enemies and lets you kill big things sooner than you'd normally be able to. When you get to the point where you have to farm Adamantoise (the big Dinosaur looking mother fuckers in the field) there's a technique that's really good involving Sasz (sp?) I'll explain it when you get to that point though since it's a lengthy post in itself.
You know that big field you're in at a certain point in the game? The one with the big dinosaur type creatures? Those dinosaurs annihilate me. I've leveled up to the point where I don't die instantly like I used to. But they still kill me pretty goddamn quick. I guess I'm not ready for them yet. Likewise, the giant motherfucking cactus that I took on.
Those are Admanturtles, if you had the volume turned down then you might have missed a piece of dialogue when you first approach one where the characters basically shit themselves at the prospect of fighting one and tell you not to, come back to them when you have at least 3 roles maxed out for every character (to Lv.5 which you need to complete the game to get) and I'll tell you how to kill them with Vanille or Fang at first and then Sasz when you're stronger.

Forget about the cactus for now, come back to it when you have all 6 roles at Lv.5 for all your characters.
But even the lesser enemies that I feel I should be able to beat by now are giving me trouble. The dragon type creatures, for instance. Sometimes I can dispatch them right quick. Other times, however, I'll sneak up on them and as a result stagger them almost instantly. Ad yet, even while staggered, they'll rear up on their hind legs and renew their health. WTF? How can they do that when they're staggered? And there doesn't seem to be any way to stop them doing that once they decide to do that.
But it's not just a matter of whittling hem down again from full health. These sons of bitches have vicious attacks. There's one attack, I don't remember what it's called, but there's one attack that kills me instantly, even if I'm at full health. Instantly. And my health is leveled up very high. Plus I use fully upgraded top-of-the-line bangles on everyone, my own (Lightening, that is) raising my health 500 points fercryinoutloud.
After you finish Ch.13 you get to explore that field in more depth and those enemies are there in order to give you some challenge when you're at a higher level. But! If you can kill them sometimes now then you can probably do it every time if you have the right strategy, I'd suggest setting your default Paradigm to Lightning - MED, Hope - SYN, Fang - SAB for a round or two then change to Com Med Sen if your health is low and alternate between that and Com Rav Sen until it staggers (or even Med Med Sen if it's really hitting you hard). By this point you should have learned the ability "Launch" in your Commando classes for Lightning and Fang that lets them hit the target into the air and makes it incapable of doing anything while it's up there, as soon as it's staggered Make sure that Fang is a Commando since she has the highest attack stats, let her launch it into the air while Lightning and Hope pummel it with magic attacks, they'll raise the stagger bar to 999% and Fang will do a ridiculous amount of damage because of it. If you don't kill it before the stagger runs out then return to the Com Rav Sen or Com Med Sen paradigms until you grind it down, it'll stand up and regenerate it's health but with Fang as a Sentinel it shouldn't cause too much trouble. If it does then run from them until you're a bit stronger ;)

I don't know if you're in the habit of doing this already but anytime you find yourself in a fight with a foe that you either haven't encountered before or one that you simply haven't scanned before, use the technique "Libra" on it at least once )but sometimes twice in order to glean more info from the enemy) or if there are loads of enemies use a Librascope from your items menu. Scanning the enemies for weaknesses and immunities makes the actions of your A.I characters improve and they will always exploit any weaknesses they find to maximise their damage or to save them from casting spells that will be ineffectual. You can tell if you've got all the information on an enemy by looking at the icon beside it's name in the Beastiary in the menu. Anything that you have all the info on has a tick beside it's name on the list.
Where are the goddamn shrouds? There were lots of them in the beginning of the game, but now there are none. Or are there? There was one path I went through a while back with flowers. Some of the flowers glowed noticeably. I thought for sure they gave off shrouds, but I found no way to interact with them. How do you pick up shrouds, assuming they are still around? I can't remember, and the game manual doesn't say.
You get shrouds randomly at the end of some fights, the chances of finding them increase if you get a higher star rating for a fight (5* giving you the highest chance of recieving any items after a fight) there is an accessory that improves your chances of finding shrouds called the Survivalist Catalogue, I can't remember where to find it and there's only one in the game but if you have it, wear it and don't ever upgrade it! It'll turn into a Collector Catalogue if you do and they're common as muck in comparison. Other than that you find shrouds in some treasure spheres, you can buy them for rip off prices from the stores later on or you can dismantle certain items to get them. If you do get them, don't use them all the time, save them for when you're trying to 5* missions later in the game.
How do I ride the chocobos? I got into their area, and it seems I'm supposed to interact with one of them but I've no idea how. They game probably told me, but Sarah was studying in the living room, so I had the sound turned all the way down. And then, because I couldn't hear what the characters were saying, I figured fuck it and skipped the cutscene :(
Now there are chocobos out in the field, and I can finally get to areas I couldn't get to before (those goddamn yellow circles were pissing me off). Only I don't know how to ride the chocobos.
You can't ride them yet, I was confused at first too but there are actually two Chocobo missions that need completed before you can ride the Chocobos. I can't remember which number the second one is though

Any more questions?

Alas it didn't have an effect.
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

I'm playing "Split/Second", a race game by Disney Interactive Studios. It's a lot of eye candy and explosions. To be honest, I don't like it very much.

That one is by far the best in the series, great mix of plot and strategy for the battle system. Shame they can't seem to get it right any more and everything is so plain and dull now. The life like ones don't interest me as much as the the cartoonish ones.

Sara, never played that one, you can try www.gamefaqs.com if you're having trouble :qoti:

i agree for the most part with one exception and thats final fantasy 12. i think they did a great job with the battle system and setting of gambits etc. what i wish they would bring back is the concept of materia that they had in seven.

The gambit system was ok but it was a stepping stone to just having everything automated and took some of the control away from you. I do agree that FFXII was one of the better ones on the PS2 but it still didn't come close to 7.

The materia system itself wasn't the great thing about 7, it was the intricate amount of control you ended up having in fights, ranging from which attributes and elements each character possesed to how many of the enemies you wanted to attack or even just the combinations you could discover when matching up materia. FFIX was almost as good but not quite the same.

Lsd, I'm Paco by the way (Or Francisco Rodriguez on Facebook) I know you've been gone for a bit and probably missed the name change.
