I just found out there's no Europe release of Demon's Souls and the PS3 version of Dragon Age looks poo beside the PC version. I'd feel like I was doing myself out of it.
Any other recommendations? Baring in mind I'm going for an older game for cheapness.

Any genre in particular?
Or platform?

PS3. Something like an RPG or strategy. I've been playing too many FPS, TPS and sandbox games of late.

Well you're going to be a little short of options there I'm afraid.
Most PS3 rpgs are new releases, so you're looking at standard price.
Unless you're willing to pick up older multiplatform games like Oblivion.

Oblivion looks too much like Fallout 3. I hated that game.
I guess I'll just have to see what's out. I might fork out the bit extra for a new release.

Still playing FFXIII. I'm not as frustrated as I was before. I'm not entirely clueless now. But still somewhat. I'm in a huge field now. Nice to be able to roam around for a change instead of following a very narrow set path. Presently I'm just wandering around leveling up. Leveling up a lot. I wish I knew how to fight better. If I did, I probably wouldn't need to be ridiculously over-leveled. Wish I had somebody who was familiar with the game here to show me what to do :(
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Demon's Souls was 45 fucking quid, for a second hand game! You must be fucking joking. Couldn't find Dragon Age so I got the God of War: Collection (1&2) second hand for 20 quids.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to kick some mythological arse.

Tat, what do you need to know? I've put about 100 hours into FFXIII and even though I think it's one of the worst FF games I can probably help you out. You really shouldn't be having much trouble in the fights since it's almost entirely automatic after you set up some Paradigms pre-battle.

I stuck with Lightning, Fang and Hope for most of the game but you can swap Hope for Vannille without much of a difference.

For 99% of the game I had the Paradigms set up as

Rav, Com, Rav (Default)
Com, Rav, Med
Com, Rav, Sen
Com, Med, Sen
Med, Med, Sen
Med, Sab, Syn

The Commandos are good at dealing damage but they fill up the stagger bar slowely whereas the Ravengers are weaker but increase the stagger bar quicker which is why it's good to have a mix of them both, all you need to do for the majority of fights is swap between Rav, Com, Rav and Com, Rav, Med when your health is low. The game really is that simple.
