Whatever were in those rooms prolly wouldn't have done me much good that late in the game anyway. I was getting a shitload of Adam at this point for instance, but what was the point? Fat lot of good it did me five minutes before the ending :ddpan:
I don't remember that bit, but I played it and completed it too( PC version). Amazing game. Special!

In the cell block, some prat kept yattering on about me finding the code. Okay, okay, I thought, I found the fucking code. Whatever. Figured its use would become apparent in due course, only it didn't.

I did like this game, but not as much as the first. Hard to top the first.

By the way, it is Tilda Swinton doing the voice of Lamb, right? It must be.

Finished Company of Heroes.
Almost finished Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Fuckers had a buggy PC release so the final scene won't play out. The game won't officially end even though I completed the last level.
Now playing Brothers in Arms. Fairly... shit, to be honest. People talked it up but it was rather underwhelming.

I replayed the game and found a hint for the code in one of those recorded messages you find laying about. It had to do with the paintings on the wall. I thought something was up with those paintings.
Anyway, I didn't kill anyone I didn't have to this time around. Massages my ego. And the girl, in turn, gave me a happy ending. Of sorts. I still died, while she sucked the juice from me. But I guess I died happy :dono:

Now I started Fallout 3, which to my understanding was an awesome game. But I don't like it. I can't carry anything I pick up. I get a message saying I'm overloaded. So what's the point of exploring and picking things up if I can't carry them? I can drop some things to lighten my load, of course. But which things? How the fuck do I know which things I'll need or won't need :lay:
And why does it take like a hundred fucking gunshots to kill an enemy :lay:

In the Good Ending you're dying anyway so she takes your ADAM so you'll "be together forever".

Yeah. Plus she doesn't kill all the Little Sisters. Plus she saves her mum from drowning.
Why? You never got the good ending? :hehe:

Drop the difficulty level, sell all your stuff except essentials, only pick up limited weapons in the field, but always pick up all the meds and ammo you can, and buy as much as possible too. (doesn't weigh anything, as good as currency, and useful!) Or get a house to store your junk in. Simples.

I loved Fallout.

Well I haven't died yet or anything, so I hate to drop the difficulty setting just yet.
What are the essentials :dono:
Wait, sell non-essentials? How :dono:
A house

And why do I have to kill all the doggies I meet? Why I can't I make one be my friend? I like doggies

Non-Essential items in Fallout 3:
Any weapons that you aren't specialising in (Only focus on one weapon type at a time, Small Guns is the most versatile as that's what you'll encounter most of. Some of the weapons are quite over-powered too.)
Any armor you aren't wearing or keeping to repair your own armor.
Drugs. Things like Psycho and Jet are useful on the hardest difficulty, sometimes, if you don't play carefully. On the lower difficulties they're absolutely useless. The only things you need are Stimpacks, Med-X and Radaway. Even Rad-X is useless, the only parts where it comes in handy there are alternative ways to avoid the radiation.
Junk - Anything you can't eat, shoot or wear is useless. Don't pick it up at all unless it's for a repeatable quest.

I'm having an easier time of it now that I've leveled up a bit, but it's taken quite some time to do that. It was very very frustrating at the start when I couldn't kill even the weakest enemies like roaches using my best weapon. I'd use up all my ammo on one enemy fercyingoutloud. Now I'm at the point where I can kill a super mutant with usually three shots, but as I say , it's taken quite a while to get to this point. Also frustrating that once an enemy has his sights on you, it's nearly impossible to disengage and flee. You have to fight the enemy, and if you don't have enough health or ammo or a decent enough weapon...then you die, and that's all there is to it. Animals are my friends now, but early on it was annoying as fuck when I was being hounded by a dog. And the dog can run. But I can't :ddpan:
What do you mean by "specialising" in a weapon :ask: I usually keep an inventory of every weapon I pick up. Most of them I rarely use, but I like to have back-ups in case I run out of ammo for the weapons I do favor. The weapon I use most is the Chinese assault rifle. That seems to be the strongest so far. Or it was, that is, until I found the Lincoln Repeater :D Well, there are stronger weapons like the mini gun, the rocket launcher, and the...um...can't remember what it's called. The one that uses the mini nuke ammo. That one. But these three weapons aren't as useful as I thought they'd be. The mini nuke, for instance. I assumed it would obliterate an entire group of enemies with one shot. Except it doesn't :ddpan: And the ammo is damned expensive. Also frustrating are the weapons I would think would be extraordinarily useful...but aren't. The sniper rifle, for instance.
The drugs...I usually forget I even have them. Sometimes I use them because I figure they must help me. But then I get addicted to them :ddpan:
Yeah, I'm dropping everything I don't need at this point. But now I've met some ghoul dude who wants scrap metal. And a woman who wants books. Fuck! Now I have to go back and find that shit.

Right now I'm trying to do quests. I figure I can make some caps that way. People are always asking me to do shit for them and I'm like, okay sure, whatever. But I have no fucking idea what they're talking about usually, and then I forget all about it until I run into them again and they ask me if I did that thing for them yet :ddpan:

So who gets the fingers? When I kill enemies now, I pick up a finger from them. When I selected this thing, I thought I was gonna be told who wanted the fingers :ddpan:

Oh, Dukov wants to fuck me. But if he wants to charm me, he might wanna stop calling me "clown shoes." Still, I spared his life and took his key :dono: I killed Tenpenny, though

The reason the big guns aren't as useful as the smaller ones are because you haven't put enough points in to the skill.
A fatman can take out any enemy except a Behemtoh on the hardest difficulty in one hit, if you have 100 on big guns.
But the ammo is rare, and expensive if you want to buy it.

As for drugs - you have a chance for addiction for every use after the first within I think it's 48 hours. I only started using them after I modded the shit out of my PC version, never needed them otherwise. More useful to sell them off for stimpacks.

As for quests, use your pip boy to select the quest, you should see options for "find location". That will show you were it is on the map. Use your HUD compass to get there while moving around, head towards the solid arrow.
For the most part, this will steer you true.

As for your inability to shoot... well, lol. If you're using the hunting rifle and any of the pistols early on, bar the .44, then yeah it'll take forever to kill everything. Best to go to the Super Duper Mart as early as possible and loot their weapons.

Also, don't use vats with the shotgun. If you critical strike with the shotgun in vats, it only counts one shot, if you do it normally, every single pellet gets it's own critical. You can kill a super mutant behemoth in one hit with a shotgun on the hardest difficulty if you sneak attack it's face.

Thanks for the advice. Shit, I forgot to go to the Super Duper Mart
I didn't know what you meant about the super mutant behemoth, until I just ran across one. Jesus Christ I almost pissed my pants  But it turnt out he was slow and stupid, and he was so big that he couldn't get out of the room he was in (dunno how he got in there :ask: ), so I just stayed out of his reach. Well, at first I did. But he was so slow and dumb that eventually I just said fuck it and went in to shoot him from close range. Didn't take long to bring him down. Surprised he didn't have anything all that useful on him :?

I have an assistant now, Chiron. I hired him after buying off his contract from the ghoul in the Museum of History. Chiron didn't like that guy apparently, because as soon as I freed him from the dude, Chiron murderized him :hehe: Actually, I wanted to free Chiron, not hire him. But what the hell, he's pretty useful.

just started playing Devil May Cry 4 on PC. It's distinctly interesting I must say, though I'm not a huge fan of having to get so many fiddly button sequences right just to break various guards and blocks etc... but I'm slowly getting used to it. I have to say I enjoy the weird fantastical design.

I've also started playing Metro 2033, which is fairly creepy and not that easy, but I'm not overly impressed with the linearity of the story, though it's understandable when you consider it's based upon a famous novel and is done in a 'playable story'-style.

And finally I'm enjoying the s**t out of Bioshock 2. Those Big Sisters are creepy bitches, that's for sure! Though I have to play it in phases as sometimes it's just too much repetitive slog all at once, but there is enough variety to make it fun everytime I go back to it. Plus the design is kick-ass!
