Look, face it. Dragon Age is out now. Final Fantasy is out-dated.
It was a good masturbatory aid while it lasted but now its crusted over with old semen, some pubes and even a bit of lint. Oh, and the batteries are dead.

Dragon Age. Meh. Demon Souls is better.

As an aside, someone mentioned Xii. A lot of people seem to think the story shit, but I really enjoyed the political side of it. A little different, and somewhat more complex then some of the other titles. I hope Xiii will involve some of these facets. :what?:

Anyone heard news about Versus? That looks like pure kick arsery.
I appreciate the political aspect of XII, but the fact that not only were the party members left out of the main plot for most of the game, but also the main character may as well have been nonexistent. Vaan was such a worthless, whiny thing who contributed nothing to the story. Made me almost like Tidus. Plus, I hated the gambit system and license board and the fact that you had to kill enemies, then sell their spoils, then purchase abilities before you could use what you'd licensed. It all seemed very roundabout to me, spending more time on menial tasks than having fun level grinding and playing mini games in between boss battles.

And with regards to XIII Versus, I'm more excited about that than XIII. If you've seen the extended trailer, you can tell that the team knows what they're doing. They have a bunch of team members from VII, X, and Kingdom Hearts, they've got Nomura on directing, Shimomura on music, and overall you can tell that they're working toward a higher production value than XIII. The art direction looks amazing. Apparently it's supposed to play similarly to KH as well; action-RPG, GoW hack'n'slash + FF growth system.

For the old fans, yes. For the newer generation of gamers, it's great. Let's face it, action-RPGs are the new wave of RPGs--no one has the attention span to sit and enter slow-ass ATB commands ad nauseum anymore. I think it's a more "realistic" battle setup, anyway.

Meph, I've been playing FFXiii, for the last few hours... epic. I'm sort of at the stage where I cannot wait until I reach a point of stability, much like the beginning of VII, how all you want to do is finally get out of Midgard. Ah, so much to take in, so little wine left.

I'll update in a few days, with my honest opinion of the direction of the series.

I'm going to be dragging my arse across the factory floors tomorrow morning.

I have read many reviews that suggest that there is no point of stability. I know exactly what you mean by stability. An example of a "moment of stability" is like in FF7 right after you get out of Midgar. I have read that it's a roller coaster ride until you reach Pulse. There you can go do something besides the main story for a while, then it's right back on the roller coaster. This seems like more of an action game than an RPG. The developers did say that this game in the series would be in a different genre.

I'm still gonna "rent" it from gamestop.

Here's a video review.

I'm going to for go getting this game and get God of War 3 when it comes out. I'd rather beat the Hades out of swarms of undead and Greek gods rather than fuck around in a Japanese porno. I will give it a look at some stage though.

If you mean beat your way out of Hades by means of pressing displayed button at the right time, sure. GoW I and II were more like porn then FF. That is, if you get off to sweet, sweet brutality.
