Half-life: Original

Post by Trolldor » Fri Jul 17, 2009 4:36 pm

None of that fancy shit, gritty original half-life.
Tis brilliant.
I demand you all play it at least once through.

I played HL+HL2 and ALL of the mods and sub games, to death... literally I died. This is the ghost of AB. (I was a clan leader, back in the day, <AnF> Animal Farm..... ahhh memories.)

Best first person shooter ever.

All the add-ons are pretty swift too.

First of a new generation of game, a first person shooter with decent puzzles and storyline. (Doom??? Bleh Quake.... Rubbish!)

I just finished HL2. Fucking awesome. Seriously, it was like a cross between War of the Worlds and 1984. Made me feel like I was IN Orwell.

If only War of the Worlds had a gravity gun...

The original HL was great but HL2 is a something special.
Some reviews dared to call it the greatest game ever. I am inclined to agree but I will hold the final judgement until episode 3 is out and I know how it all ends.

No gravity gun? No thanks.
Keep your gritty original.

I was a counterstrike player, I never liked the original Half-life. Sorry.

I have had that game in the cupboard for years. I tried playing it once, fell off the ladder trying to climb up the first liftshaft and had to go right back to the beginning cos i didn't save. I then played through again and finally got out of the first section - despite dying dozens of times (I knew to quick save this time.) Trouble is, at the end of the session, I turned off my PS2 and didn't realise that the quick save is only in game memory!! So when I tried to find it to load, it wasn't there! :(

I never bothered playing it again until...

I just spent 8 hours of last night obliterating head-crabs. It was fun. I may start getting a little scarcer around these parts for a while. :shifty:
