I must admit I really like Hopper. This one and probably his most famous (a reproduction but the same size) hangs in my living room. never get tired of looking at it.

That was big in the sixties. I made a small copy with some acrylics. No measurement beyond sight of eye...way to get insight into the artist, really. Don't try without some tech drawing background.

35-37 minutes into the movie above. The characters and assorted props - more than a little reminiscent of the Hopper piece? Interesting to note how Hopper used his wife as a possible in many pieces. Requiring time to observe a character to get them right would also be easier using stills from little known (stateside) movies. Nighthawks was made the following year to the movie.

No sorry I dont find much like it. Hopper late night coffee place is much bigger and open. Hopper had to use is wife as she did not wont him using other models. All the women in all his pictures is her. He used himself for all the male parts. In Nighthawks all three men are him.
