This was a good read with some interesting insights. It is repetitive though, and some of the evidence used to support his reasoning is likely subject to serious debate eg in a few places early on he brings up fmri and suggests the imaging reveals something of what a voter actually wants.
There are several interesting attempts to refute common ie known to me a layperson arguments for democracy, as well as the more sophisticated defenses put up by political scientists and philosophers which make it worth reading.
Do not be alarmed, I'm popping a gender reveal cannon.
Blight of Blackwings ...Book 2 in the Bone Giant series....crazy imginative ..very unique.

Bullshit Jobs, David Graeber. Grim, funny, and ridiculous in equal measure. Really well written though.

My books on the night stand and a few coming are on Estonia and the Baltics. Hoping to visit Tallinn and Riga in a year or two.
I even got a used book teaching Estonian. It sounds like Finnish but a good third of the words have no resemblance to each other, the words for the same thing. Sounds like this:
The title is that the world is ringing (in music) but in Finnish heliseb sounds like rattling. The words are related in that manner, "false friends."
If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!
How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?
You! Yes! You behind the bike sheds! Stand still, laddie!

I'm reading some song lyrics, and the verbs and nouns take the same form as in Finnish. We use cases in nouns instead of prepositions. The endings are all the same.
