The thing I liked about the third one was that it seemed 'final' with Marvin's death. I wonder how this one is going to work...

Marvin died at the end of the 4th book, and he hasn't come back(although his leg gets a mention). I won't spoil the book by saying any more though.

I thought it was only three, and that one of them was a "spin-off"... ah well. I've got the 'collector's edition' of Hitchhiker's, so I've got five of them all mashed up in to one giant volume.

I am so charming and witty and clever. It wasn't officially out, but without any prompting the lovely young lady at the counter offered to make an 'unofficial' recording: IE she wrote down information on a post-it to enter it in to the system when the book was finally properly released. They only arrived today.

But... I'm not gargantuanly impressed. Don't get me wrong, I think he did an exemplary Job, but like DP the frequency of Guide Excerpts were unnecessary, for me they detracted from the story. I found myself skipping over them. However, it does read very similarly to Douglas' Own work. Overall, I would say it's worth a read through.

The other 'New Atheist' books are all better but TGD brought atheism out in the open so its not all bad.
