No, but there's The Martini Diet by someone who calls herself Gin!

I've tried the martini diet. It really works, it's fantastic - I lost three whole weeks.

I'm reading "Snijpunt" (Intersection) by Nelleke Noordervliet. It's a very recent novel (2008) about a teacher who is stabbed by a student, the teachers daughter and her ex-husband (who as of yet has not made an appearance), and their separate struggles to reconcile their views on life with reality.

It's a pretty good read, and also my first homework assignment. I'm to read this novel before August 20th, when the author will visit Nijmegen university to discuss the book with all first year students. I'm looking forward to it.

Brilliant book, even better than The Kite Runner.

I'm sorry, but everything is better than the Kite Runner. Even burning babies.

I've just started The Book Thief and am struggling to get going with it. I 'get' the style but am finding it too bitty (no Little Britain jokes, please) to get my teeth into. Must persevere.

I loved The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, but if I had to pick a fave it would be the latter.

How can everyone like that piece of amateurish--tear jerking--erroneous--melodramatic crap?

I'm reading this delightfully charming book.

(When I Googled 'Filth' on Google images I got page after page of Cradle of Filth. I mean WTF?)

Just finished The Winter Queen by Boris Akunin. A jolly good romp.
