A good portion of the choices I make are based on what my friends have recommended.

Also, when I find an author I like, I usually read all their books.

Otherwise, if I see a book that looks interesting that has been neither recommended or is an author I recognize, I read book reviews about it first. If most of them are good, I'll buy the book.

I get bored and buy ones from my local shop.
Willy nilly.
But man either I have good luck or excellent choice selection. Have liked them all.

I rely heavily on Amazon Recommendations. I find they recommend books I really do want to read.
